North of the square in Černovice in the Pelhřimov region there was a Jewish quarter from the 18th century, where there were several buildings with a now defunct wine cellar and a pub. The local synagogue was built in 1807. After a fire in 1857 it was rebuilt in Neo-Gothic style and finally in 1949 it was closed down.
The building was sold and adapted into a residential house. A monument to the Jewish population is the preserved Jewish cemetery, which is located by the path along the stream leading to Svidník hill.
